About Matthew Morgan

How a copywriter ended up teaching people to build software with AI.

The short version

Matthew Morgan, known online as Matthew Online, is an entrepreneur and YouTube creator. He teaches 48,000+ subscribers how to build software and businesses using AI tools, and runs the AI Partner mentorship programme.

Starting out

He began working online in 2020 as a freelance copywriter, specialising in email marketing for direct response businesses. He grew that into a client practice, then into education, publishing short form video as Matthew Online. In 2021 that early work was profiled by We Are Irish, and in 2022 Business Insider featured him on building multiple online income streams as a freelancer.

Teaching

Between 2021 and 2024 he ran education programmes covering freelance copywriting, email marketing and client acquisition. Thousands of people went through those programmes, and the foundation in writing, outreach and selling still runs through everything he teaches today.

The move to AI

In 2024 the work changed direction. Agentic coding tools reached the point where someone who could not previously ship software could ship it, and that became the subject of the channel. The videos now cover Claude Code and similar tools, building and shipping small products, automating real business operations, and what a one person software business actually looks like when you run one.

Almost everything demonstrated on the channel is something he built and uses himself. That is a deliberate constraint: he does not teach a workflow he does not run.

APEX and AI Partner

APEX is the home for his current programmes. AI Partner is the mentorship track, aimed at people who want to build and sell software with AI rather than collect courses about it. It is a paid programme. Independent reviews of APEX are on Trustpilot, currently averaging 4.6 out of 5 across 53 reviews.

Personal

He trains Brazilian jiu jitsu, and spends most of his spare time building new tools and products with AI.
